School Council

Introducing our School Council

Our school council members are democratically elected each year. In September, children in Year 2 - 6 stand for election and will speak to their class about why they would make a good candidate. Year 1 School Council members are elected midway through the year.

Our school council members are ‘the voice’ of their class and also arrange important events such as Children In Need and the renowned ‘Mendip Green’s Got Talent.’

Funds Raised 2023 - 2024

Children in Need: School Council organised a 'mis-match uniform' day. Children were encouraged to come to dress up 'the brighter, the better' or to dress to support Pudsey by wearing spots and dots.

They raised £298.86 through donations.

Save the Children: Always a popular event, School Council supported this charity through the national Christmas Jumper Day. Festive knitwear, t-shirts, hats and boppers filled the corridors and classrooms at Mendip Green.

They raised £280.00 through donations

Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group: The school council reps organised collections after each of our Christmas productions (all 10 shows) for this charity which is very close to our hearts.

They raised £606.87
