School Council

Welcome to the children’s section of the school website. We are very proud of our school and its new website. Everybody at Mendip Green has kind hands, kind words and kind feet.

We love Mendip Green because it is fun and the teachers are really kind. We always do nice things like the Year 1 wedding and going to the caves and going to Swindon Museum.

You can use the button in the bottom right-hand corner to log in to DB primary, which has lots of games and activities to do. We love using DB! You can enter forums and post pictures. There’s also quizzes, videos, pictures and sound clips.

School Council

School council meets every month to discuss school matters important to the children. The council members are decided by ballot from Year 2 upwards and by teacher and pupil discussions in Foundation Stage and Year 1.

The children bring agenda items to meetings that are reflective of issues raised in class, on the playground or the wider school community. This year we have focused on developing a meadow area in school into an outdoor learning space, improving our esafety in school and at home and we are currently working on a fundraising activity to purchase valuable equipment for school.

We aim to provide members with the autonomy to make informed choices in school thereby developing their skills of communication, rationale and self confidence.
