PE
Vision
We endeavour to create an inclusive culture where all children enjoy and take part in weekly physical activity. We encourage all children to participate in a range of skills and to strive to reach their full potential. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum and believe all children should have the opportunity to experience a variety of sporting activities.
Rationale
The choices we have made within our PE curriculum will allow us to ensure children are supported to develop as a whole child, working on their cognitive, social, creative, personal and physical skills. Children leave their journey at Mendip Green knowing and understanding the different types of PE: physical activity, School Sports and competitive events or games. The skills that the children develop throughout their time at Mendip Green allows them to be ready for their life-long journey.
Programme
We follow the Real PE scheme and the National Curriculum. The curriculum is well planned by class teachers, working collaboratively with the schools within the MAT and supported by the PE champion for ELAN, Lee Molland. We regularly seek current and up to date advice from the PE champion to help develop and grow as a school. Our PE curriculum is engaging, fun and inclusive for the children and staff, ensuring all children feel they can succeed in every PE session.
